Functional Test Operator is responsible for setting up and performing test on components, subassemblies and systems to ensure production quality is achieved in accordance to TTM standards while working under minimal supervision. This is a BiQ (Built in Quality) role, which means all operators will be trained to the relevant IPC & J-STD requirements and will also perform inspection functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This job necessitates conducting tests in a specialized isolated clearance room, where the presence of any electronic devices is strictly prohibited to adhere to security-level regulations. All testing personnel are required to remain in this isolated environment for a duration ranging from 6 to 8 hours. The exact length of time will depend on the specific testing protocols and requirements that need to be fulfilled. All individuals involved in the testing process must understand and comply with these regulations to ensure the integrity of the tests and maintain security standards. Must be able to pass a security clearance within 120 days of employment. Perform specialized testing of products. Sets up standard test apparatus, test equipment and/ or circuitry to conduct functional, operational and environmental tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models. Uses oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and other testing devices. Analyzes and interprets test data. Completes test acceptance/ failure reports. Performs visual/ mechanical inspections of electronic assemblies to uncover problems. Completes reports on findings. Adjusts, calibrates, and aligns production or prototype assemblies to obtain optimal performance in accordance with documented performance levels. Calibrates testing equipment and performs minor reworks, such as soldering connections Performs inspection activities on products including but not limited to: solder/workmanship, harness and cable, conformal coat, chassis assembly. Conducts regular preventative machine maintenance. Accomplish all job related paperwork in the most accurate, timely and ethical manner. Communicates regularly to supervisors/managers, suggests procedural changes. Work effectively and responsibly with others. Attends meetings, communicates regularly with managers and supervisors, attends special training, maintains a clean, safe work environment and communicates to supervisors safety hazards and issues. Cross train in other areas. All other assigned duties as required within the production organization.

Familiar with IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, IPC J-STD-001 and electro-mechanical assemblies preferred Good mechanical skills and understanding of basic forms of digital and analog circuitry. Ability to communicate in English language clearly both written and verbal; good interpersonal skills required. Good computer skills, including working knowledge of Windows, Word and Outlook Ability to understand printed circuit board assembly including reading assembly drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and written work instructions. Math skills: ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Skilled in evaluating test and production data; good problem solving skills. Willingness and ability to work in a team environment, assist other departments when workloads demand it, and effectively work with all levels of the organization. Ability to safely work or come in contact with chemical, physical (noise, etc) or biological agents. Ability to work up to 10 hours a day, 5 days a week and is flexible to work weekends if necessary Good reading vision; must be able to lift 30 lbs, able to sit/stand for up to 10 hours at a time. Ability to pass eye exam with a minimum 20/20 vision that may be corrected via eyeglasses or contact lenses as required. Eye exam is required annually. Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job. Preferred: The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of electronics experience, with proficiency in RF network analyzer measurements, use of oscilloscopes, and other test instruments. Prior experience with automated test setups.

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that my be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
