About the Role:

We are looking for a Facilities & Civil Engineering Project Engineer who will be joining the Engineering Department (North America hub). The person we are looking for will have the objective to manage the investments related to new installation and refurbishment in our plants in North America and worldwide.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead project design team for facilities, civil infrastructures and industrial buildings (production facilities, warehouses, roads, parkings, laboratories, production offices, etc.) in line with Applicable Laws, Group standards and Group policies.
  • Supervise the release of technical documents for permitting in line with all applicable laws of the country (Federal, State and Local) where investment is realized, manage technical discussions with Local Authorities with support of Plant, Business unit and Institutional Affairs Department.
  • Guarantee a transparent and fair tender phase, compare and revise offers of the suppliers, manage and monitor respect of project milestones until project completion ensuring during construction phase respect of H&S, design requirements, technical standards and project budget.
  • Coordinate and support other disciplines and trades (H&S, industrial process, IT, Quality, etc.) from beginning until end of the project granting clash detection and resolution of interferences.
  • Supervise and manage the execution of industrial investments with respect of H&S, food safety, hygienic design principles, technical specifications and Group standards.
  • Support the start-up of new industrial buildings (for facilities and civil infrastructure's part) and provide support to the Production department with after go-live assistance for building issues when required.
  • Guarantee respect of timing milestones with appropriate reporting to Professional Report, Managerial report and Project Manager, guarantee respect of project budget (directly or by reporting to Project Manager).
  • Ensure proper documentation storage for design packages, projects documents and layouts in line with Ferrero Engineering standards, ensure the continuous update of design package until delivery of as-builts in line with Ferrero Engineering standards, ensure the use of best design technologies (BIM), support the development of Building Guidelines with best practices and lessons-learned.
  • Collect relevant technical documentation available for NAM plants prior of investments in order to contribute to a solid technical archive in line with Ferrero Engineering policies.
  • Guarantee appropriate on-site presence and live support for assigned projects/investments.


Who we are looking for:

  • Master's degree in building engineering/architecture/structural engineering (or other engineering title)
  • 8+ years of work experience in construction
  • Proven technical leadership and project engineering experience in design and construction of complex industrial buildings (food&beverage industry)
  • Proven methodological background and organization to enable effective working performance in multi-disciplinary environment and on multiple investments and plants at the same time.
  • Ability to work in a team, coordinate different disciplines/trades, manage subcontractors and manage technical discussions for permitting.
  • Availability to travel to different Ferrero Plants/Construction sites,
  • Reporting capabilities, communication and problem-solving skills, ability to take independent decisions on construction sites in line with policies Group.



Competences:



  • Problem solving attitude and ability to relate with different functions (Technical Procurement, H&S, Quality, Maintenance, Workplace Management, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to provide leadership to multiple disciplines in a large and complex organization and in taking decisions independently in line with Group Policies.
  • Proactive attitude, result oriented, project ownership, ability to organize independency, able to balance and execute on different projects in parallel.


Languages:



  • Fluent in English
  • Fluency in additional languages is highly preferred.
