Associate Director of Transfer Admission

Job Summary:

The Associate Director will be responsible for the planning and implementation of innovative transfer recruitment strategies and programs designed to meet transfer enrollment goals at Northeastern Illinois University. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.

Job Description:

    • Oversee the development and implementation of transfer strategies that is consistent with the overall enrollment strategies of NEIU.

    • Ability to handle and keep confidential information as required by FERPA.

    • Supervise transfer admissions counselors.

    • Develop, implement and evaluate a transfer recruitment plan consistent with NEIU's overall enrollment objectives.

    • Oversee the dual and guaranteed admissions programs NEIU has with nearby community colleges.

    • Work with Director of Admissions and Marketing Office to develop annual transfer media plans, which will include assisting in the development and design of web and printed materials intended for transfer audiences.

    • Help update the annual communication flow as well as send ad-hoc messages throughout the year.

    • Represent NEIU at transfer events and coordinate coverage of transfer programs and college fairs with the Director of Admissions.

    • Work with Director of Admissions on optimal transfer territories.

    • Ability to make presentations to classes, clubs and/or community colleges as needed.

    • Call, email & text with assigned inquiries & applicants. Meet with families as needed.

    • Build upon existing relationships and continue to establish strong associations with community college advisors.

    • Plan and execute events targeting the transfer student population (e.g. Open House, Workshops, etc)

    • Perform other duties or additional responsibilities as required by the University

    Minimal Qualifications:

    • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or comparable work experience.

    • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of transfer recruitment strategies, programs, and articulation agreements.

    • Five years of progressive responsibility in admissions, enrollment or student services, preferably with transfer students.

    • Expertise in the use of data in the decision-making process.

    • Experience with student demographics similar to NEIU.

    • Proficient in software such as Google, Adobe, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; CRMs (Slate preferred); and project management systems like Asana, Marq, Basecamp.

    • Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively to large groups.

    • Must be willing to travel and be available to work occasional evenings and weekends.

    • Persuasive communication skills.

    • Has a track record of going out of the way to help someone; leaves a positive impression on others.

    • A valid driver license and ability to easily lift 25 lbs. is required.

    Highly Desirable Qualifications: Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

    Salary: $60,000 - $65,000

    This position requires a background check.
