Site Quality Operations Manager

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? This position is part of the Air Liquide Advanced Materials Business Unit which focuses on highly specialized molecules that support the electronics industry. Within a growing business, you will be enabled to significantly add value to a diverse portfolio of products and assist in new product commercialization efforts from a quality perspective.

The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $140,000 - $175,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Air Liquide considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • In a fast paced environment, this position is responsible for leading the QA/QC organization in addition to mentoring and leading the site through strategic and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide day to day supervision of the Quality team along with being an active leader within the Site's Advanced Materials management team.

  • Responsible for implementation and deployment of internal processes and documentation necessary to meet internal and customer quality requirements. Manage, track and report on the progress achieved. Manage and maintain production and product control limits, specifications and quality review meetings.

  • Manage and lead contracted metrology support to the site for performance, method development and project prioritization for resource management.

  • Prepare and present customer facing documentation related to product quality and ISO certification audits. Provide technical support for quality related incidents for Advanced Material products manufactured and used within the Asia Pacific region.

  • Provide regular performance feedback including the development, entry and management of staff goals, ALAM strategic key performance indicators and site/product quality performance metrics. Develop and lead investigations, corrective actions, quality training and support the implementation of systems necessary to maintain a strong Quality Management system.

  • Manage data and authority to approve materials for shipment to customers. Lead site SPC/SQC reviews and action plans.

  • Lead FMEAs and offer recommendations to identify and eliminate quality related problems related to new, existing or changing processes prior to occurrences.

  • Drive Supplier development and process six sigma projects, including capital project design and project management.

  • Meet or exceed all company safety procedures and standards with the understanding that all injuries are preventable through appropriate risk reduction.

  • This position includes various roles and responsibilities within operational systems to manage change, have effective document control, and manage data to authorize and approve materials for shipment to customers. These responsibilities can extend to support other regions of the world producing similar products.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, preferably Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. Equivalent experience (6+ years) will be considered.

  • 5+ Years of leadership experience, preferably in a quality related function.

  • An advanced working knowledge of Quality Management fundamentals including FMEA, SPC, statistical data analysis and problem solving techniques.

  • Experience with GC, FTIR and other on line analyzer equipment and sampling systems.

  • Knowledge of analytical techniques used for characterization of trace impurities in chemicals or pharmaceuticals.

  • Knowledge of SAP and LIMS system functionality to support operations and quality functions.

  • Is proficient in FMEAs and SPC control methodologies

  • Strong English skills (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • >5 Years of semiconductor or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team

  • ASQ Certification for auditing ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949

  • Excellent listening and communication skills

  • Six sigma green belt certification or higher

  • Knowledge of 8D process

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work and effectively lead a collaborative team environment

  • Laboratory experience

  • Experience using SAP and LIMS software.
