Job Summary

The Endpoint Deployment Manager leads a team managing Microsoft enterprise co-management tools to provision, deploy, and secure endpoints across multiple campus locations. This role oversees professionals using Intune for cloud-based management and Apple/Jamf MDM for Apple devices. Responsibilities include packaging, testing, and deploying academic software through AppsAnywhere/Cloudpaging and SCCM, with a focus on automating maintenance, upgrades, and patch management. The position will support FGCU's specific endpoint management needs.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Designs, develops, and maintains the endpoint platform delivery infrastructure and platforms, customized to support the requirements of the University, including faculty classrooms and labs utilizing FGCU owned endpoint devices.
  • Oversees the implementation of endpoint software packaging, testing, deployment processes; monitors and optimizes the cloud-based endpoint management delivery platforms to ensure reliable endpoint delivery and license server performance.
  • Assigns tasks, sets performance objectives, and conducts regular performance evaluations to ensure team's productivity and professional development. Fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment through knowledge sharing teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates work schedules, prioritizes tasks, and manages resources effectively to meet project deadlines and operational goals.
  • Collaborates closely with other sections within Information Technology Services and campus stakeholders across departments to understand their endpoint device needs and provide guidance for the successful use of endpoints in delivery of education to students.
  • Serves as a consultant and subject matter expert in endpoint management delivery platforms technologies, providing recommendations to colleagues in ITS; participates in cross departmental projects and committees to contribute to the development of endpoint strategies and underpinning server and/or cloud infrastructure to maintain endpoint standards across campus.
  • Seeks feedback from campus stakeholders to continuously improve the endpoint infrastructure with current and effective platforms, software application and delivery solutions.
  • Implements and maintains robust security measures within the University endpoint platforms and underpinning endpoint delivery infrastructure. Conducts regular audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Ensures compliance with endpoint security protection and best practices specific to the higher education sector. Stays up to date with trends and industry standards related to endpoint platforms and software application delivery automation and security in a higher education setting.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive documentation of endpoint management processes, endpoint applications, academic software licensing, versioning installations, server platform and/or cloud management diagrams to facilitate troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, and security compliance requirements.
  • Generates reports and provides insights on endpoint performance, usage, and trends.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires either seven years of full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information systems, or a related field and three years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Professional full-time experience in Microsoft 365 tooling and/or M365 tenant administration.
  • Experience in endpoint management automation infrastructure and process operations using Azure, SCCM, Intune, M365, Jamf-Apple Device Management, MDM or AppsAnywhere.
  • Experience with administering a MS enterprise-wide tenant in the cloud for service delivery using secure and standard approaches to endpoint automation and management.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune Fundamentals.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, M365 Administration concepts, methodologies, and best practices within the higher education sector.
  • Strong knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell).
  • Proficiency in M365 management and administration.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security principles, compliance requirements, including but not limited to regulations specific to higher education, such as FERPA.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Skill in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing guidance and motivation while establishing goals and expectations of accountability.
