Summary:




The Aerospace Business Unit is responsible for Aerospace applications with a global responsibility for Sales, Manufacturing, Business development, Product and Process Development. The Business Unit operates in a large number of countries and markets, all over the world and with a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace industry. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine / airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of our Business Unit. Muskegon Factory in Michigan is producing Slim Line Bearings. We are now looking for a new Factory Manager. The Primary responsibility of this position is to drive and lead the factory management with focus on sustainable profitability, competitiveness, and delivery performance aligned with the Aerospace goals and strategies. This position is located in Muskegon, MI and is part of a global network of manufacturing facilities in the Aerospace business. The Muskegon facility has approximately 120 employees including a 3-shift Union workforce.

Responsibilities:



  • Deliver zero defect and high service level to Customers.


  • Develop and follow up daily, monthly and quarterly performance to ensure the achievement of the targets with focus on cost improvement and waste elimination.


  • Continue improvements in SKF Production System, design flexible and efficient production process with high focus on Sustainability and NetZero.


  • Further develop process improvement activities and digitalization roadmap.


  • Ensure high teamwork with Sales, Business and Product Development to sustain profitable growth.


  • Ensure that all SKF requirements concerning Health & Safety, environmental, and legal regulations are followed.


  • Follow, support, and implement the SKF local and Corporate policies.


  • Be a role model of a Purpose-driven culture with foundation on SKF Values, promoting Diversity Equity and Inclusion.


  • Motivate and develop leadership skills in all team members, create a learning culture thereby improving the competency level.


  • Create and support customer focus, team spirit, constructive work environment and ownership in the factory.





Requirements:



  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field.


  • Proven track record and at least 7 years of leading a unionized manufacturing facility.


  • Outstanding leadership capabilities to develop self, others, and business.


  • Ability to develop inspire empower and motivate team, ability in navigating complex scenarios and business.


  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, proven experience in deploying successfully Lean Manufacturing Methods/SKF Production system or Lean manufacturing techniques.


  • Commitment to maintain a safe working environment in line with SKF requirements concerning Health & Safety, environmental, and legal regulations.


  • Business and financial acumen and customer focus.


  • Good analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
