JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Berks LaunchBox is seeking applicants for the Part-Time STEAM & Entrepreneurship Education Coordinator position.

The Part-Time STEAM & Entrepreneurship Education Coordinator is responsible for programming offered in the Berks LaunchBox to support community entrepreneurship education and youth outreach which includes:

  • Facilitating serious play activities and design challenges for youth and adults

  • Building youth activities to drive innovative thinking and a growth mindset

  • Partnering with community organizations to lead youth experiences such as camps and Remake Learning Days

This position is also responsible for leading, teaching and organizing the Idea TestLab customer discovery class every fall, which is a signature program of Invent Penn State based off the Lean Startup methodology. Must assist with developing new entrepreneurship programming as needed. It is important for this position to create and maintain relationships across Penn State Berks, the Berks County community and Invent Penn State/LaunchBox community and support a diverse population of entrepreneurs and youth.

Candidates must have:

  • Strong organizational and computer skills

  • Be creative, innovative and enjoy working with both youth and adults

  • Business, teaching and/or coaching experience is preferred

  • Evening hours will be required for a portion of the up to 15 weekly hours with occasional weekend events possible as well
