Position Description Summary:
The Department of Biological Sciences at the George Washington University (GW) invites applications for a full time, tenured/tenure-track, nine-month appointment, faculty position in Computational Biology at the level of Associate Professor, to begin in the Fall 2024 semester.

We are looking for an investigator who is using or developing bioinformatics and computational approaches to study areas of biomedical sciences that intersect with fundamental processes in biology such as (but not limited to) evolutionary genomics, molecular epidemiology, molecular microbiology and pathogen biology, systems biology, and emerging omics.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have established an externally funded research program comprising graduate and undergraduate students. Teaching duties will include a core undergraduate course, as well as an upper-division course or lab in bioinformatics related to the successful candidate's specialty.
Minimum Qualifications:
A completed PhD or Doctoral degree, as well as holding the rank of Associate Professor (or higher) with tenure at the time of application, and research accomplishments demonstrated by an established, externally funded research program and peer-reviewed publications in high quality journals.
Advertised Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
