Job Summary

The Clinical Research Coordinator is a health professional having working knowledge of clinical research activities, communication skills and a willingness to cooperate as a team member. Required is the use of skills to independently or with general direction coordinate and follow through in the overall administration and outcome of clinical studies.

The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator is a health professional having an advanced-level working knowledge of data management activities, excellent communication skills and a willingness to cooperate as a team member. The position requires certification by the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Also required is the use of advanced-level knowledge and skills to independently coordinate, direct and follow through in the overall administration and outcome of one or more clinical studies. This position will provide leadership for a department-wide clinical research program, including overseeing lower-level clinical research coordinators and/or other support personnel. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications

CRC:

  • Knowledge and understanding of disease processes as applied to human clinical research.
  • Knowledge of clinical research trials regulation (Food and Drug Administration [FDA], Office for Human Research Protections [OHRP], and Good Clinical Practice [GCP]).
  • Knowledge of regulatory processes as well as working knowledge of data management activities as applied to clinical coordination.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office Suite:Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc

Sr CRC:

  • Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience coordinating clinical trials
  • Advanced knowledge of federal, local, and institutional regulations and policies (e.g., Food and Drug Administration [FDA], Office for Human Research Protections [OHRP], and Good Clinical Practice [GCP]) is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory processes as well as a working knowledge of data management activities as applied to oncology clinical trial coordination.
  • Advanced-level knowledge and understanding of oncology disease processes as applied to clinical research.
  • Advanced-level knowledge of basic anatomy, medical terminology and ability to interpret physicians' notes, medical records, laboratory and scan results.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills or experience encompassing both training and ongoing coaching.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.
  • Working knowledge of databases and/or Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
  • Ability to work occasional overtime as work demands.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience coordinating oncology clinical trials.
  • Previous experience coordinating clinical trials.

Department Overview

The Office of Clinical Research (OCR) is a component of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCDCCC). The mission of the OCR is to facilitate and coordinate cancer clinical research for Cancer Center investigators, provide investigator support, serve as centralized resource for all aspects of oncology clinical trials, and adhere to clinical research compliance and regulations. The OCR manages over 260 active oncology clinical trials.
