Position Summary
This position is responsible for assigning staff and vehicles to scheduled pick-ups, demand response, and other paratransit related operational services based on staffing, maintenance constraints, fleet availability and service needs. This position ensures that paratransit operational staff reports to work in accordance with standard operating procedure to carry out task deemed necessary to support day-to-day operations. Routinely, this position will work to fill open shifts daily as interruptions in services may occur and to ensure passengers maintain schedule adherence to their allotted times. This position is responsible for reporting customer service related issues to management and assisting paratransit passengers with service related inquiries. Utilizing Automatic Vehicle Location ( AVL) and Passenger Trip scheduling software, this position works in coordination with the Paratransit Manager, Maintenance Crew, and if applicable, Electronics and IT Operations to report and resolve issues that may obstruct daily operations or the ability to provide accurate service and data for National Transit Database ( NTD) reporting. Lastly, this position will also provide back-up support at the Van Operator capacity. Applicants will submit to drug and alcohol testing as required by the US Department of Transportation.

  • Possess a Class C Driver's License.
  • Strong Organizational, Verbal/Non- Verbal Communications, and Customer Service Skills.
  • Emphasis on attention to details and the ability to multi-task utilizing critical and strategic thinking to support daily operations.

  • Communicate utilizing multiple apparatuses: two-way radio, phone/text, email, etc. to deliver and obtain route assistance to staff and passengers.

  • Ensure all driver assignments are covered within a timely manner.
