POSITION TITLE: Event Center Greeter
STATUS:Part time
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
DIVISION: Student Development
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
UNION: Non-union
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics
PLACEMENT: Support staff, grade 7
MINIMUM PAY RATE: Term Stipend

POSITION SUMMARY
Greet and direct individuals that enter the JJC Event Center for appointments, classes, practices, games, rentals. Evening hours required Monday thru Friday 5pm to 9pm, Saturday 12pm-6pm, Sundays 10am-6pm. Shifts can change according to need.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Direct individuals that enter the JJC Event Center for appointments, classes, practices, games, rentals.
2.Working knowledge of raising/lowering batting cages, curtains, and basketball hoops in the field house for all events.
3.Monitor field house, locker rooms, weight room, storage areas in ensure everything is in working order. If items need attention, notify Director of Athletics.
4.Follow emergency and safety protocol in event of emergency
5.Provide a high quality of moral and ethical leadership.
6.Ability to work with diverse populations.
7.Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
2.Must pass a complete background check.
3.Must be able to walk stairs and the entire Event Center as well as outdoor athletic fields.
4.Must be willing to be trained in CPR, AED, first aid and other emergency response as needed.
5.Must be able to assist with the rescue of injured or ill persons.
6.Must be able to work varying shifts on evenings and weekends.
7.High School degree
8.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
9.Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills.
2.Computer experience and technology skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
3.English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
4.Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1.The employee is often required to stand, walk, run, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch. Vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
2.Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.
3.Ability to travel in state and nationally.
4.Evening and weekends required

WORKING CONDITIONS
1.Duties are performed indoors and outdoors daily, as weather conditions permit, in the athletics environment. Noise level can be moderate to loud.
