Description

The Director of Product Management will play a key role in shaping our enterprise product vision - defining value, guiding investment, and building the product capabilities that support MISO's mission to be the most reliable, valuecreating Regional Transmission Organization. In this role, you'll bring together enterprisewide product strategy, balance crossproduct priorities, and partner closely with engineering, business, and operations teams to solve today's challenges and anticipate those emerging in a rapidly evolving energy landscape. We're also looking for someone with a genuine passion for people leadership - someone who thrives on identifying talent, developing strong product leaders, and building highperforming teams. This leader will set multiyear product direction, champion innovation, and ensure our product decisions align with MISO's strategic priorities through a wellestablished product operating model.

What you'll lead and own as our Director of Product Management:

  • Define and execute the enterprise digital technology product strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and innovation priorities.
  • Build and evolve a unified product operating model that strengthens strategy, discovery, prioritization, roadmapping, and outcome measurement.
  • Develop multiyear product roadmaps that advance innovation, modern engineering practices, and enterprisewide transformation.
  • Drive coherent, scalable product direction across capabilities and value streams while serving as the single voice of enterprise demand for Digital Technology.
  • Establish strong product governance through frameworks, decisionmaking cadences, product health metrics, and crossteam alignment with architecture, platform, and governance partners.
  • Build trusted relationships with executives and facilitate shared decisionmaking that strengthens strategic clarity and aligns digital technology priorities across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and modern product practices.
  • Ensure highquality, compliant product delivery by embedding governance, risk, and security controls, managing escalations, and maintaining transparency with leadership.
  • Build and lead highperforming product teams by establishing organizational structures, developing Product Owner capabilities, and fostering a culture of growth, alignment, and strategic clarity.
  • Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to define hiring profiles, conduct senior-level interviews, and scale the team with diverse, high-caliber talent.
  • Oversee investment stewardship and partner with Finance and business leaders to influence budget decisions and track ROI for strategic initiatives.

Experience needed for our Director of Product Management include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive product management experience, including 5+ years leading through other leaders within complex, multi-team technology organizations.
  • Proven ability to define and execute product strategy across a portfolio, delivering measurable improvements in outcomes, product maturity, and organizational capability.
  • Strong experience shaping investment strategy and building business cases across varied funding models, including capital planning and annual budgeting.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing managers, scaling highperforming product teams, and fostering inclusive, hightrust cultures with clear growth and succession paths.
  • Expertise in establishing and maturing product management capabilities, including role definition, standards, and development frameworks that elevate performance enterprisewide.
  • Ability to partner as a peer with engineering leadership in a shared delivery model, aligning product demand with engineering capacity without direct authority.
  • Experience building trusted partnerships with business or operating units, establishing credibility as the preferred path for technology solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of modern product operating models, value and outcome measurement, product operations practices, and delivering within complex or highly regulated environments.
  • Exceptional communication and executive influence skills, with the ability to drive alignment, manage change, and navigate crossfunctional decisionmaking in a complex organization.
