UVA Health Farmville Dialysis provides specialized outpatient dialysis services to patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Perform patient assessments and triage Administer medications safely and accurately Monitor patient status during treatment Identify and respond to signs of patient deterioration Carry out provider orders Participate in interdisciplinary communication and collaboration Attend and contribute to monthly interdisciplinary rounds Provide patient and family education Deliver high-quality care while utilizing critical thinking and clinical judgment Required Skills Strong physical assessment skills Safe medication administration practices Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition Effective communication and teamwork skills Preferred Skills Dialysis experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and accurate documentation Physical Requirements Ability to stand for prolonged periods Frequent bending, stooping, and movement throughout the clinic Ability to lift, push, or pull 20-50 pounds Capability to work in environments with potential exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases Strong auditory and visual skills Background of a Strong Candidate Dialysis experience is preferred Demonstrates excellent critical thinking skills Thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment Enjoys building long-term relationships with patients Functions effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team Growth Opportunities and Career Path Opportunity to gain specialized nephrology and dialysis experience Participation in interdisciplinary care planning and patient safety initiatives Ongoing development of assessment, clinical, and critical thinking skills Candidate Attraction Factors Salary Competitiveness Sign-On Bonus available for qualified candidates Relocation Assistance available for qualified candidates MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $41.05 - $54.15 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
