About the Role

This role supports safe, secure, and reliable facility operations by monitoring access points, supporting lobby and visitor security, performing routine facility checks, and responding to urgent facility or security needs. This role completes preventive maintenance, responds to work orders, troubleshoots basic electrical and mechanical issues, escorts vendors, and follows site safety, chemical handling, SDS, and security procedures.

Monday-Friday 8A-4:30P

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the building perimeter and reports facility or security concerns.
  • Verifies that emergency doors are secured and have not been breached.
  • Supports security procedures in the main lobby.
  • Compiles security checkpoint data and prepares customer-required reports.
  • Performs preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Escorts vendors while they are on site.
  • Responds promptly to department work orders and requests.
  • Troubleshoots basic electrical and mechanical equipment issues.
  • Handles chemicals used for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.
  • Responds to facility and security emergencies, including alarms, unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, medical incidents, spills, leaks, power outages, equipment failures, and other urgent issues.
  • Assists employees and team members with general day-to-day facility support needs.
  • Maintains on-call availability, as assigned, for after-hours facility or security needs.
  • Moves equipment and materials during maintenance or vendor support activities, up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a facilities technician or security position.
  • Experience monitoring or administering access control, badge systems, alarm systems, or visitor management systems preferred.
  • Ability to prepare clear, timely, and accurate incident reports and customer-required documentation.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain professional under pressure, and interact effectively with employees, visitors, customers, vendors, and emergency responders.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, cleanroom, laboratory, semiconductor, electronics, or other controlled-access environment preferred.
  • Continuing education, vocational training, formal technical apprenticeship, or equivalent training and experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow site access, restricted-area, and visitor procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment during urgent facility, safety, or security situations.
  • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
  • Basic knowledge of handling chemicals and the ability to understand SDS.
  • Experience with computer-based software and building control systems is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated and customer service oriented.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with contractors.
  • Ability to comply with all safety procedures and requirements.

  • Ability to move quickly and safely throughout the facility during alarms, evacuations, or urgent maintenance needs.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, safety shoes, respirator, chemical PPE, or cleanroom attire.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing, cleanroom, mechanical room, utility, laboratory, warehouse, and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to noise, temperature changes, odors, chemicals, fumes, dust, and other conditions typical of facilities or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, read labels, review security and access information, and identify safety or security concerns.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, or on-call hours as needed.

Starting pay depends on qualifications:

  • Facilities Technician Security I - $22.93 to $28.70 per hour
    Facilities Technician Security II - $24.45 to $31.80 per hour

Other Compensation and Benefits

  • Shift differentials are paid at the rate of 10% for hours worked between 5:30PM and 12:00AM and at 15% for hours worked between 12:00AM and 5:30AM
  • Target Cash Bonus with potential payout of up to 2% of earned wages
  • 120 hours of paid Vacation per year, plus paid Sick Leave and 10 paid Holidays
