About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a SEIT TIDES Software Engineer to support the Software Systems Integration side of the TIDES organization. In this role, you'll design, develop, test, and maintain software tools, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment infrastructure that support spacecraft payload development and hardware test environments. You'll work alongside systems, FPGA, hardware, and integration engineers to build the software backbone used across advanced space programs.

What You'll Do:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, automation frameworks, utilities, and services supporting TIDES SSI and DOTI capabilities.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, packaging, deployment, and release workflows.
  • Develop software interfaces connecting laboratory systems, test equipment, payload hardware, engineering tools, and data services.
  • Deploy and maintain containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and related technologies.
  • Create automated testing frameworks and improve software quality through testing, code reviews, and debugging.
  • Troubleshoot software, Linux systems, network infrastructure, containers, and hardware-in-the-loop integration issues.
  • Collaborate with systems, FPGA, hardware, electrical, and integration teams to develop practical software solutions.
  • Create documentation including software designs, deployment procedures, APIs, release notes, and user guides.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability, and developer productivity across shared engineering infrastructure.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing applications, services, automation tools, or software platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience developing software using Python, C/C++, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar programming languages.
  • 3+ years of experience building automated testing frameworks using PyTest or comparable test automation tools.
  • 3+ years of experience with Git-based development workflows, source control, code reviews, and release processes.
  • 3+ years of experience developing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Linux environments, including command-line tools, shell scripting, package management, and system troubleshooting.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or containerized application deployment.
  • Experience supporting hardware test environments, embedded systems, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or laboratory automation.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including Ethernet, routing, DNS, subnets, firewalls, and network isolation.
  • Experience integrating software with test equipment, instrumentation, APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
  • Strong DevOps and infrastructure automation experience.
  • Ability to independently own software features from requirements through deployment and support.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across software, networks, Linux systems, CI/CD platforms, and hardware-adjacent systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Interest in leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools to improve engineering efficiency and software quality.
  • Experience with software design, debugging, object-oriented programming, and software development lifecycle best practices.

  • Work Arrangement: Fully On-Site or Hybrid/Flex options available.
  • Work Environment: Advanced aerospace and defense engineering environment supporting spacecraft payload development, hardware integration, DevOps infrastructure, test automation, and software systems integration.
