Description
POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Semi-Truck & Trailer Maintenance Technician to perform inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshooting of commercial trucks, trailers, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with diesel-powered equipment, and a commitment to safety, quality, and minimizing equipment downtime.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Repairs & Maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance services on semi-trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and suspension system issues.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, steering components, and driveline systems.
- Inspect, repair, and replace trailer components including, landing gear, lighting systems, and air systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair ABS brake systems and air brake components.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and minor body repairs as needed.
- Complete tire inspections, repairs, replacements, and wheel-end maintenance.
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles comply with federal, state, and company regulations.
Equipment Inspections
- Perform pre-service and post-repair inspections to verify equipment condition and operational readiness.
- Identify potential maintenance concerns before equipment failures occur.
- Accurately document inspection findings and repair recommendations.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials, fluids, and waste products.
- Ensure all maintenance records are completed accurately and on time.
Documentation & Communication
- Complete work orders, repair reports, and maintenance logs.
- Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and estimated completion times to supervisors and operations personnel.
- Assist with maintenance planning and scheduling to maximize equipment availability.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining and repairing semi - trucks and trailers preferred.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair procedures.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work in a shop environment.
