Overview

The Nuclear Services Chiefs Group is looking to hire a Fire Protection Senior Engineering Manager. The Nuclear Post-Fire Safe Shutdown/Fire Protections Sr Manager is responsible for ensuring a nuclear facility can achieve and maintain safe shutdown conditions in the event of a fire, while meeting all applicable regulatory requirements. This position can sit out of our Kennesaw, GA office.

The Fire Protection Senior Manager provides leadership, oversight, and technical direction to the ENERCON Post-Fire Safe Shutdown/Fire Protection Team. This position is responsible for ensuring ENERCON products comply with NRC regulations, NFPA codes, licensing basis commitments, and plant procedures related to fire protection and safe shutdown capability. The senior manager leads program implementation, engineering evaluations, corrective actions, and long-term strategic initiatives to ensure plant safety and regulatory compliance for ENERCON clients.

The Nuclear Post-Fire Safe Shutdown/Fire Protection Senior Manager leads a diverse team with talents that span all aspects of a successful fire protection program, including fire suppression system design, fire alarm and detection system design, fire barrier requirements, and fire hazards analysis.


Responsibilities

Senior Engineering Managers ensure safe, high-quality project execution, help drive the division's business growth, and maintain strong client relationships while leading project-based teams composed of matrixed engineering personnel.

  • Project Delivery & Execution: Lead the execution of engineering projects to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. Define and manage project scope, deliverables, and execution strategy in coordination with Project/Program Managers. Direct multidisciplinary teams of matrixed engineering resources assigned to projects. Ensure integration and coordination across all engineering disciplines
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and oversight across assigned projects. Ensure compliance with applicable nuclear and conventional codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Serve as the responsible engineering authority for project technical decisions related to Post-Fire Safe Shutdown/Fire Protection. Drive resolution of complex technical challenges
  • Client Engagement & Business Development: Act as a primary client interface for engineering execution and technical matters. Build and maintain strong client relationships and trust. Support proposal development, scope definition, and technical positioning. Identify opportunities for repeat business and growth
  • Matrix Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate project-assigned engineering teams within a matrixed structure. Collaborate with Design Organization leadership on staffing, resource planning, and technical capability alignment. Provide project-specific direction, feedback, and performance input on assigned personnel. Foster a collaborative, high-performing project team environment
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement: Ensure adherence to ENERCON's quality assurance and engineering processes. Promote continuous improvement and lessons learned across projects. Drive consistency in engineering execution and deliverables

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (fire protection or mechanical preferred); advanced degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including project leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Engineering project execution
    • Client relationship management
    • Leading multidisciplinary teams in a matrixed environment
  • Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations
  • Technical leadership and decision-making
  • Client focus and relationship management
  • Project execution and accountability
  • Collaboration across matrixed teams
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Communication and influence
  • Approximate travel of 10% as needed

Compensation Range

USD $180,000.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.
