Overview

Egan Company is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the quality assurance and control function for all electrical field projects and manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, client standards, and internal benchmarks. The manager provides strategic direction, technical oversight, team mentorship, and field leadership to uphold and continuously improve project quality and performance. By leveraging Built-In Quality (BIQ) principles and partnering with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), this position ensures consistent, zero-defect execution across all electrical groups.

Responsibilities

The basic responsibilities of the Quality Manager include but are not limited to the following:

  • QA/QC Program & BIQ Leadership: Oversee the implementation, refinement, and enforcement of quality systems across all electrical projects and manufacturing shops. Drive the cultural shift toward Built-In Quality (BIQ), ensuring craftworkers take ownership of quality at every step rather than relying on final inspections.
  • SME Collaboration & Process Standardization: Facilitate collaborative workshops with field and shop SMEs to capture institutional knowledge. Synthesize this hands-on expertise into a comprehensive QA/QC manual, complete with practical, targeted SOPs and visual quality standards.
  • Field Oversight & Audits: Establish regular site inspections and audits across multiple regions to ensure strict adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC), Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements, and contractual specifications. Serve as the final escalation point for complex quality issues arising on active job sites.
  • Shop & Manufacturing Quality: Establish rigorous point-to-point testing, dimensional checks, and verification processes for custom control panels and prefabricated assemblies prior to shipment. Directly support and optimize quality operations at both the Champlin, MN control panel shop and the Kasson, MN electrical prefabrication shop. Partner directly with the engineering and production supervision teams to ensure all work consistently aligns with company and regulatory standards.
  • Digital Integration & Documentation: Standardize QA/QC reporting processes and champion digital workflows. Integrate all field and shop quality documentation within Autodesk Forma and our specialized manufacturing execution/shop management systems.
  • Continuous Improvement & Root Cause Analysis: Analyze field rework data, punch lists, and defect trends to identify systemic issues. Lead structured root-cause analyses and implement strategic process improvements to minimize rework costs and elevate operational excellence.
  • Training & Mentorship: Design and deliver highly targeted QA/QC toolbox talks and training programs to field staff, supervisors, and project teams. Coach and mentor quality personnel to foster a culture rooted in safety, quality, and individual accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial), Quality Management, Construction Management, or related preferred.
  • 6+ years in construction or manufacturing with at least 3 years in QA/QC leadership preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or similar credentials are a plus.
  • Experience managing QA/QC programs in multi-disciplinary organizations.

Qualifications
