What to Expect

The Crew Lead for Installation will be part of Tesla's Field Energy Operations team. As a leader at Tesla, the Crew Lead will continuously model Tesla standards and responsibilities including policy compliance, quality standards, and efficiency goals. The ideal candidate will work cooperatively with team members to successfully complete the installation and maintenance of energy products safely and on time.


What You'll Do
  • Act as a subject matter expert in energy system installation and train/mentor team members; may be responsible for a group or team
  • Supervise the jobsite and proactively guide team members to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards
  • Service and commission energy systems, including array layout and mounting hardware, based on site conditions and customer needs
  • Proactively resolve equipment and system issues; troubleshoot and overcome obstacles onsite
  • Apply advanced knowledge to improve processes and review workmanship to maintain high quality standards
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure all materials and equipment are available onsite and communicate job status to customers and leadership
  • Drive team productivity and efficiency while providing an exceptional customer experience and completing work both independently and with a team

What You'll Bring
  • Extensive knowledge of Energy equipment, installation, and service
  • Experience in roof work, general construction, or carpentry preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to read building plans and equipment manuals
  • Ability to safely handle power tools and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, conduit, lumber, and roofing materials
  • Excellent customer service, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent attendance, valid driver's license, and ability to travel up to 2 weeks at a time several times per year to various Texas locations
