Epileptologist

Inova Neurology is looking for a dedicated Epileptologist to join the team! This role is sign on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

The Epileptologist (MD/DO) is responsible for providing quality medical care to Inova Health System patients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. This role will also be responsible for conducting comprehensive medical exams, making diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and providing education and guidance to patients on disease prevention and management.

Inova Neurology provides patients with the highest level of care relating to diagnostic, treatment and research services for neurological and related disorders. Our physicians are board certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology, sleep medicine, internal medicine, electroencephalography, vascular neurology and electrodiagnostic medicine.

Our practice also offers in-office testing for a wide range of neurological and sleep disorders.

Epileptologist Job Requirements:

• Completes initial assessments and evaluations of new patients and provides ongoing monitoring of patients' medical conditions while providing treatment.
• Orders prescription medications and diagnostic procedures while authorizing and coordinating all specialty and ancillary services.
• Participates in the development of such programs as preventive health screenings, immunization programs, professional community outreach, quality assurance and others.
• Participates in a wide range of clinical research projects and studies.
• Participates in multidisciplinary team activities such as case conferences.
• Provides in-service staff development and clinical teachings to trainees rotating through medical practice.
• Maintains a consultative relationship with nurses, social workers, staff clinic nurses and rehabilitation staff.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Epileptologist Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
• Training: successful completion of Neurology residency program and successful completion of Epilepsy fellowship.
• Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Neurology.
• Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.
• Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor.
• Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 1+ year(s) experience in Epilepsy
