In this role you will be responsible for laying out, fits, welds fabricating, casting, and forging components to assemble structural forms, building, and bridge parts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment
  • May assemble parts by bolting and riveting
  • May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using a cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Four years of experience and appropriate welding certifications for the type of welds to be performed
  • AWS (American Welding Society) certification
  • MIG welding
  • Shielded metal arc welding
  • Carbon air acring
  • Oxy-fuel cutting
  • Grinding
  • Familiarity with basic weld quality requirements
  • Familiarity with steel fabrication safety requirements
  • Good organization skills
  • Good verbal communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive benefits package designed to support our employees both on and off the job. New employees begin as NPCs (temporary employees) for an initial 45-day period, with the opportunity to transition to PCE (permanent employee) status based on successful performance.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
