Job Description

As a Senior Area Manager, you will manage multiple in-school enrichment and childcare programs and provide leadership and oversight to Area Managers to execute effective and quality programs. Your leadership will demonstrate and drive accountability for operations, quality, customer satisfaction and profitability across your markets. In this position, you will work directly with districts and our team to implement and maintain programs, and additionally provide leadership to empower your team of Area Managers to achieve excellence in their dedicated markets. You will serve as a critical link between the program team, leadership, licensing agencies and central organizational functions to facilitate effective communication and compliance.



The compensation range for this role is $78,000-$83,000 annually



As a Senior Area Manager, you will:


Provide Leadership



  • Oversee a team of 1-3 Area Managers to ensure the implementation of Right At School's programs, achieve quality and safety standards, and implement opportunities to optimize program operations
  • Provide direct support to a team of program team members to execute all aspects of programming in assigned areas
  • Support the knowledge and understanding of direct reports to align with compliance and licensing requirements
  • In partnership with the Human Resources and Talent Acquisition teams, recruit, develop, motivate, engage, and retain a talented team of Area Managers and program team members through effective leadership and guidance, coaching, and performance management


Support Operational Excellence



  • Drive the implementation of Right At School's curriculum and ensure high-quality program delivery and continuous improvement in all aspects of program operations in direct support of local markets
  • Maintain direct profit & loss responsibility for assigned programs
  • Implement effective standardized operating procedures to help drive program quality
  • Ensure Right At School sites/programs meet state-specific licensing requirements with onsite visits completed regularly


Maintain Customer, Client & Organizational Relationships



  • Market Right At School programs by seeking out opportunities to promote the program at relevant school and community events.
  • Recognize and pursue internal growth opportunities of all locations in their area
  • Develop positive, collaborative relationships with school administration, parent-teacher organizations, outside vendor staff, and Right At School team members, including Central Office support teams
  • Serve as a point of escalation for indirect markets, support customer and client resolutions, and provide excellent service to all stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external partners through clear, thoughtful, and effective verbal, written, and in-person communications


What We're Looking For:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in childcare, retail or related industry
  • 2+ years of experience managing multi-unit business
  • At least 2 years of direct P & L experience
  • Knowledge of child care licensing regulations preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and foster teamwork
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize work and manage deadlines
  • Must possess excellent judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to travel as needed to visit field programs within local markets as well as markets of Area Manager direct reports
