Join our dedicated Engineering TEAM and play a key role in keeping The Grove Resort & Water Park Orlando safe, efficient, and operating at its best. The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the Engineering team and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and performance of the resort's buildings, mechanical systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Essential Job Functions:





  • Oversee the daily operations of the Engineering Department, ensuring the resort is safe, well-maintained and operating efficiently.



  • Lead, train, coach and supervise Engineering team members.



  • Assign and follow up on daily work orders, preventive maintenance and repairs.



  • Oversee electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration and building systems.



  • Conduct regular inspections and address maintenance and safety concerns.



  • Respond to maintenance emergencies and coordinate appropriate repairs.



  • Manage vendors, contractors and service providers.



  • Assist with Engineering Department budgeting, purchasing and inventory control.



  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, building codes, fire/life safety and other applicable regulations.



  • Monitor utilities and identify opportunities for energy and cost savings.



  • Support engineering projects, renovations and capital improvements.



  • Communicate effectively with hotel leadership, other departments, vendors and guests.



  • Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection and equipment records.



  • Promote a safe, professional and service-focused work environment.



  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.




Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:





  • Knowledge of hotel engineering, maintenance and building systems.



  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and refrigeration systems.



  • Strong troubleshooting, leadership, organization and problem-solving skills.



  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and equipment manuals.



  • Ability to manage vendors, contractors, projects and multiple priorities.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems preferred.




Other Expectations:





  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.



  • Must be available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.



  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations as required.



  • Maintain professional grooming and appearance.



  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.



  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability and sound judgment.




Hotel Specific:





  • Working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.



  • Work in multiple areas throughout the resort.



  • May be exposed to mechanical rooms, kitchens, pools, rooftops and elevated work areas.




Physical Demands:




  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs.



  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.



  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb and work in confined or elevated areas.



  • Ability to use hand and power tools and perform repetitive movements.



  • Ability to work around varying temperatures, chemicals, electrical equipment and other maintenance-related hazards.





Qualifications:

Education:




  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management or related field preferred.



  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.





Experience:




  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Engineering, Facilities or Maintenance experience.



  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.



  • Hotel or resort engineering experience strongly preferred.



  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and building systems.



  • Experience managing vendors, contractors and maintenance projects preferred.



  • Applicable trade licenses or certifications preferred.
