Location: Riverside, CA

Pay Rate: $32.91 - $39.96 per hour DOE

Schedule:Tuesday - Thursday | 20 - 25 hours per week

Education Requirements



  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Community Development, Advertising, Design, Humanities, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Strong understanding of digital communications, community outreach, and social media best practices.


Experience Requirements



  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, social media management, or a related field.
  • Experience creating and managing content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and similar channels.
  • Experience developing content calendars, coordinating campaigns, and supporting community engagement initiatives.
  • Experience working with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, or other public-facing organizations is highly preferred.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Experience creating short-form video content, photography, graphics, and digital marketing materials.
  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar content creation and graphic design tools.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of social media trends, analytics, accessibility standards, branding, and public engagement strategies.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and community partners.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer and digital media tools.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers and mobile devices.
  • Ability to attend community events and capture photo and video content as needed.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and through written communications.


Job Duties



  • Support the Housing and Human Services (HHS) Department by creating engaging communications and social media content that promotes programs, services, events, and community resources.
  • Develop and publish content across multiple digital platforms to increase community awareness and engagement.
  • Create graphics, photos, videos, captions, and marketing materials aligned with organizational branding and messaging standards.
  • Maintain social media content calendars and coordinate posts around campaigns, events, and department priorities.
  • Monitor social media performance metrics and recommend strategies to improve engagement and reach.
  • Attend community events to capture real-time content and support outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with department staff, community partners, and stakeholders to communicate important information to residents.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, accessible, timely, and consistent with established brand standards.
