What you'll do:

• Observe strip cooling tank.
• Maintain check of coating and coverage.
• Shear specified sections for quality control checks and discards strips with splices or welds.
• Manage exit end of coil coating line and threading of strip onto rewind mandrel.
• Make non-mechanical adjustments.
• Work with production mechanics and report any malfunctions.
• Perform all necessary quality checks as required.

Position Summary:

Quality/Rewind position is mainly responsible for using operation console to start up the entire line and bring the line to speed. During line run, the position will control the speed and maintain the strip tension while cutting strips to obtain coil of specified size and removing the coil from rewind mandrel to the coil carrier.

Essential Job Functions:

• Observe strip cooling tank.
• Maintain check of coating and coverage
• Work in close cooperation with the production mechanic of Coil Coating Line
• Shear specified sections for quality control checks. Discards strips with splices or welds
• Responsible for exit end of coil coating line and threading of strip onto rewind mandrel
• Make non-mechanical running adjustments, such as those necessary to center strip, change tensions.
• Report any malfunctions to production mechanic and/or department supervisors.
• Perform all necessary quality checks as required. Advise production mechanic or shift supervisor if test reveal quality defect
