Position summary: JMT is currently looking for an Entry Level Water/Wastewater Inspection Speciliast to join the Water/Wastewater team in Hunt Vally. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to professional engineering staff, including serving as a field technician and inspector for field investigation services for water and wastewater systems.


Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.


Compensation for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Follow direction from professional staff, field manager, and/or crew chief to provide assistance on project work
  • Perform on-site NASSCO compliant inspections of sanitary sewer infrastructure such as manhole inspections
  • Review of CCTV pipeline inspection videos and defect coding in accordance with NASSCO requirements and JMT standards
  • Complete SSES investigations including, smoke testing, dye testing, and flow isolations as assigned
  • Perform site investigations, equipment installations and removals, maintenance, and other activities as assigned for sanitary sewer flow monitoring
  • Assure all field equipment is maintained in good working order
  • Complete inspection reports following standard JMT and client guidelines and requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring all field work is completed in accordance with JMT, Federal, State, and Local safety policies and procedures
  • Communicate with field crew leader, project managers, clients, and the public in a professional manner
  • Out of town travel for projects as assigned


Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • Able to pass Security Background Checks
  • Able to work 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday (Minimum)
  • Ability to travel required
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to bend, kneel, lift and carry up to 75 lbs as needed
  • Team Attitude / Mindset
  • Physical ability to perform work requiring confined space entry
  • Ability to work in dark, confined, and/or high places


Qualifications Preferred



  • Previous experience conducting asset inspections for sanitary sewer systems
  • Familiarity with mobile data collection equipment (cell phone, tablet, GPS, etc.)
  • NASSCO PACP, MACP, LACP, and ITCP certifications
  • Confined space entry certification
  • Experience working with sanitary sewer flow monitoring equipment
  • Experience in the review of CCTV inspection videos


Working Conditions


Work is performed in the field 95% of the time. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 75 lbs. as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Out of town travel is possible up to 25% of the time. Some travel and some night shift work is possible.
