RELI Group is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director, National Security to lead business development and capture efforts across the federal National Security market, with a primary focus on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including TSA, CBP, and ICE. This role will drive opportunity development, client engagement, capture strategy, and proposal execution while partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to expand RELI's federal business and achieve long-term growth objectives.

Description



  • Own the sales lifecycle for opportunities for in the National Security market, with primary emphasis on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). TSA will be the primary focus, while the objective of this role also includes winning new contracts at CBP, ICE, and other major components.
  • Lead the development and execution of BD and capture strategies including market analysis, pipeline development, call planning, i.e., client engagement, intel collection, and teaming.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and RELI National Security (NS) leadership team to build a 3 - 5-year opportunity pipeline that is in alignment with growth strategy.
  • Assemble and manage cross-functional teams, establish resource requirements, budgets, and timelines, and drive collaboration to ensure capture efforts align with client needs and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative solutions, win themes, and value propositions that enhance client mission outcomes and strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Stay actively engaged in all facets of proposal development, work closely with the Proposal Manager(s) on color team reviews, and ensure win strategies are effectively reflected in proposal materials, adhering to established processes and deadlines.
  • Collect and share business intelligence to understand client needs, competitor capabilities, and market trends, leveraging insights to refine strategies and improve win probability (pWin).
  • Develop and present gate review materials at weekly Gate Review Board (GRB) to senior executives, communicate strategy and progress, and align organizational resources to close pursuit gaps effectively.
  • Works with RELI teams to develop innovative solutions providing thought leadership in providing solutions to client pain points.
  • Attends government and industry events with the focus on new business and relationship building (client and partner).

Qualifications

  • Federal government-related capture experience required.
  • 8 years-plus experience working in sales, business development, or similar roles. Department of Homeland Security (focused on DHS, TSA, CPB) experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with executives and other senior leadership
  • Strategic Thinking: demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies to win new business.
  • Time Management: Must be able to manage multiple tasks concurrently and be able to delegate tasks to other team members.
  • Candidates with Orals (proposals) experience preferred.
  • Provide an up-to-date Deal Sheet reflecting opportunities worked and wins and losses.
  • Must be located in the DMV area to be considered.

The annual salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
