Bernhardt Design Division is looking for a Upholstery Apprentice. Position will be located at Plant 7 (1402 Morganton Blvd) in Lenoir, NC Primary Responsibilities: Learn to upholster and build custom pieces of furniture which includes sofas, chairs, ottomans, stools, etc. Collaborate with existing team on best practices for production of new and existing upholstered product. Maintain detailed specifications during the sample building process to ensure correct procedures are followed during the actual production & manufacturing process. Troubleshoot and engineer potential issues specific to new samples before they are released into production. Assist in creating new and innovative solutions for increased productivity during the sample creation process. Continuously learn and research best practices regarding the craft of upholstery within the industry. Preferred Experience & Skill Set: Proficient with upholstery tools such as: staple gun, scissors, regulator, tape measure, pliers, etc. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to multi-task and possess excellent communication and time management skills. Ability to meet set deadlines that will impact the development process.
