Position Overview The UAT Analyst, Real-Time Editing, is responsible for planning, preparing, executing, and documenting user acceptance testing for Visium real-time claims editing changes and related initiatives. The role validates that new functionality, configuration, data loads, table builds, edit logic, transaction processing, response messaging, defect corrections, platform enhancements, system integrations, and user interface changes meet approved business and technical requirements and produce timely, accurate claims editing outcomes.
As a member of Product UAT, the UAT Analyst partners with Visium Systems Analysts, Claims Editing and Product Content stakeholders, the Visium development team, Data Driven Edits, Configuration, Operations, and other business and technical partners. The analyst provides end-to-end validation across real-time physician and facility claim workflows, supports release and operational readiness, and helps protect the accuracy, consistency, responsiveness, and usability of the Visium platform.
What You'll Do:
UAT ownership: Manage the UAT lifecycle for real-time editing projects and maintenance releases, including scope and risk assessment, test planning, test data preparation, execution, evidence capture, defect management, retesting, regression testing, and results communication.
Requirements and testability: Review business requirements, technical specifications, interface designs, workflow diagrams, response requirements, and acceptance criteria; identify gaps, ambiguities, dependencies, and testability concerns before execution.
Test design and traceability: Develop and maintain detailed test plans, scenarios, cases, suites, traceability matrices, checklists, and test data aligned to requirements, claims adjudication guidelines, real-time transaction workflows, and software testing best practices.
Real-time edit validation: Test claims editing logic executed during claim intake and adjudication, including trigger conditions, sequencing, exclusions, configuration, data tables and data loads, edit content, and immediate claim outcomes.
Transaction and response validation: Confirm expected behavior for applicable original, adjusted, corrected, and resubmitted claim transactions; validate response messaging, routing, interface behavior, error handling, and downstream impacts across physician and facility workflows.
Data and configuration validation: Use SQL and other approved tools to validate source data, transaction data, configuration, table content, processing results, and expected claim outcomes.
Defect management and root cause: Analyze unexpected results, reproduce issues, capture transaction details and supporting evidence, document defects with clear business impact, and collaborate with Product UAT and development teams to determine root cause and verify resolution.
Release readiness and communication: Facilitate defect triage and UAT status discussions; communicate progress, risks, blockers, coverage, and release-readiness recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
Documentation and evidence: Maintain complete, accurate, and consistently formatted testing documentation in approved repositories and tools. Contribute to release notes, process documentation, user guidance, and training materials for new or changed real-time functionality.
Regression and continuous improvement: Build and maintain reusable regression suites for high-risk real-time editing functions, common claim transactions, and critical integration points. Recommend improvements to testing standards, processes, data, and tooling based on pre-production and post-production results.
Cross-functional support: Partner with Product UAT on enhancement requests, defect research, configuration and data-loading preparation, system support, business impact assessments, operational readiness, and post-production validation as needed.
Delivery and compliance: Support multiple concurrent projects and releases while meeting deadlines and quality expectations. Ensure adherence to HIPAA, privacy, security, quality assurance, and Zelis policies. What You'll Bring to Zelis:
Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, technology, information systems, or a related field preferred.
Credentials: Current CCS, CCS-P, CPC, RHIA/RHIT, RN, or LPN credential with coding knowledge preferred.
Tools: Experience with Jira, Confluence, or comparable requirements, test management, and documentation tools preferred.
Domain experience: Prior experience with Visium, claims editing platforms, real-time claim workflows, APIs or system interfaces, medical coding content, data loading, configuration, or system integration is preferred.
Experience: Five or more years of relevant experience in a healthcare payer or provider environment, claims operations, user acceptance testing, quality assurance, systems analysis, business analysis, real-time transaction processing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Healthcare claims knowledge: Strong understanding of the claim lifecycle, including physician and facility claims, real-time claim intake and adjudication, adjusted and corrected claims, reimbursement methodologies, acceptable billing practices, and claims editing rules.
Testing knowledge: Demonstrated experience with UAT planning and execution, test design, requirements traceability, integration and interface testing, regression testing, defect lifecycle management, release validation, and software testing methods.
Analytical skills: Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to evaluate complex systems, transaction data, response behavior, and claim outcomes and recommend practical solutions.
Technical skills: Working knowledge of relational databases and basic to intermediate SQL. Ability to interpret structured transaction data, interface responses, and application evidence. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Word and PowerPoint.
Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts, risks, and testing results to non-technical stakeholders.
Organization and delivery: Highly organized, results driven, and detail oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects, tasks, and release deadlines.
Adaptability: Strong initiative, self-direction, follow-through, and the ability to learn new processes and technologies while responding effectively to changing priorities. Location and Workplace Flexibility Zelis is headquartered in the U.S., with multiple locations across the country and in Hyderabad, India. Check out our locations to learn more about our offices. All employee work locations are based on the needs of the position and are determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities vary based on work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies. While location expectations vary by role, candidates within approximately 50 miles of a U.S. office are generally preferred to support collaboration when needed. Our hybrid approach is flexible, and in-office presence is guided by team and business needs rather than a fixed weekly schedule. Base Salary Range $71,000.00 - $90,250.00
