POSITION SCOPE

The Parts Runner CDL A will be responsible for the safe transportation of items to and from the specified destinations. Must adhere to all company and DOT safety policies. They will also be responsible for maintaining the inventory of parts.

THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE DAY OR NIGHT SHIFT WORK, EXTENSIVE TRAVELING, OVERTIME, AND WEEKEND WORK.

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL IS REQUIRED

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Confidence and ability to transport loads
  • Make accurate and prompt deliveries
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
  • Secure all loads in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations
  • Deliver parts and equipment to job sites spanning from San Diego, CA - Laredo, TX.
  • Travel extensively, often on short notice, to various locations including remote areas.
  • Operate heavy equipment for loading and unloading purposes (Skid steers, forklifts, excavators, wheel loaders, etc.)
  • Conducts inventory control activities as directed by Supervisors
  • Retrieves (pulls) parts/tools from inventory or if the requested parts are not in inventory notifies supervisors
  • Works under Parts Runner Supervisor to ensure delivery assignments are completed promptly and correctly
  • Complete all documents, forms and reports in accordance with company policy
  • Fueling and washing all equipment in and out of shop including support vehicles
  • Maintains a professional appearance for self in accordance with company policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Overnight travel is required


REQUIREMENTS



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Possess a Class A CDL with all endorsements
  • Minimum of 1 year flatbed experience
  • Flatbed, heavy haul and equipment experience a plus
  • SPEAK, READ, UNDERSTAND and WRITE in English
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Have mechanical skills to perform maintenance on equipment
  • Must provide a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
  • Must be able to provide past driving record, and current MVR
  • Overtime will be necessary during peak times
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule at times
  • Must be willing to be on-call rotating weekends
  • Must have strong organizational skills to handle the variety of tasks assigned and to be able to prioritize
  • Must develop positive working relationships with vendors
  • Must have some basic knowledge of heavy equipment/mechanics to know parts and speak intelligently with vendors
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule at times
