As we continue to expand globally and deliver impact that matters, we need aGlobal Compliance & Licensing Counselwho will be the architect of our corporate integrity program. You'll design and scale a world-class compliance function from the ground up: building our global compliance framework, managing our whistleblower program, and serving as the primary guardian of our ethical culture. In this role, you'll ensure that as Pluralsight scales, we remain protected from regulatory, legal, and reputational risk while fostering a culture of trust across FCPA/Anti-Corruption, OFAC/Sanctions, Intellectual Property, and internal governance. This is your opportunity to shape how a mission-driven tech company approaches ethics and compliance, and to make a real impact on our global operations. What You'll Do
Design and build our compliance infrastructure from the ground up: Develop a comprehensive Global Compliance Framework, corporate Code of Conduct, and all supporting policies; conduct baseline and recurring risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in new market entries and high-risk jurisdictions. Build vendor risk management programs: Create standardized vendor compliance questionnaires and vetting processes; audit key vendors for compliance with company standards on IP protection and anti-corruption. Safeguard intellectual property and manage open-source compliance: Establish internal controls to prevent inadvertent export of controlled technology, monitor for unauthorized use of proprietary code, review author/developer agreements, and ensure developers follow third-party license obligations. Establish and lead our whistleblower program: Create and manage a secure, multilingual Global Whistleblower Hotline, lead investigations into reported complaints, and maintain rigorous case management while reporting findings directly to executive leadership. Operationalize anti-corruption and trade compliance: Develop and enforce Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (ABAC) policies aligned with FCPA and UK Bribery Act requirements; implement automated sanctions screening to ensure zero engagement with OFAC-sanctioned entities. Manage export controls and trade compliance: Classify software products with Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN), implement automated customer/vendor screening against OFAC's SDN list, and manage export licenses and end-user certifications for restricted technologies.
What You'll Bring
Deep compliance expertise in a tech environment: Minimum 3+ years of compliance experience with a proven track record of building programs in tech or software. You understand both regulatory requirements and how they apply to our industry. Expert-level knowledge of FCPA, OFAC, and IP law: You have hands-on experience interpreting and operationalizing complex trade and IP laws as they pertain to software distribution and global operations. Strong investigative and disclosure skills: You've successfully managed internal investigations into potential sanctions violations or bribery allegations, handled sensitive whistleblower disclosures with absolute confidentiality, and drafted voluntary disclosures to government agencies when needed. Vendor risk management proficiency: You're experienced with vendor risk management tools, compliance screening software (Descartes Visual Compliance, World-Check, or similar), and automating due diligence workflows. Collaborative leadership mindset: You can work effectively across HR, finance, engineering, and executive leadership to embed compliance into our culture, not as a barrier, but as a safeguard that enables growth. Attention to detail with strategic thinking: You balance the need for rigorous controls with the flexibility to adapt as we scale globally and enter new markets.
