Our Team:The Health Human Resources Labor Relations Team serves a critical role in ensuring UC San Diego Health strategically and effectively navigates a variety of complex issues associated with the negotiation, implementation, and interpretation of several systemwide and local collective bargaining agreements while maintaining outstanding patient care. The University of California currently has systemwide collective bargaining agreements in place with nine unions, with some unions having several collective bargaining units. Our dedicated team provides detailed, timely, and high-quality services in a dynamic fast-paced environment while fostering positive relationships between the unions and University leadership. We provide hybrid work arrangements with the team currently on site three days a week after completing a six-month probationary period and occasional local travel is expected. The Position:The Labor Relations Specialist is a junior-level salary position serving in a supporting capacity within the Labor Relations team and an individual capacity with an independent case load of fast-paced labor relations matters. The Labor Relations Specialist will provide strategic guidance on interpreting and applying collective bargaining agreements and labor laws, resolve complex issues, and navigate labor-management relations in a highly unionized healthcare environment within the UC San Diego Health and Health Sciences organization. The successful candidate must have impeccable attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and will display the ability to exercise sound judgment in navigating a fast-paced environment in a variety of highly advanced labor relations contexts, including, but not limited to, the following:
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $81,600 - $147,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $39.08 - $70.79 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
