HR Generalist

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania | On-Site | Manufacturing Environment

PAC by ProAmpac is looking for an experiencedHR Generalistto support our Bethlehem, PA manufacturing facility. This is a visible, hands-on role for an HR professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, builds trusted relationships, and helps employees and leaders navigate the moments that matter.

You'll serve as an accessible HR partner across all shifts while working closely with plant leadership, supervisors, and the broader HR team. The ideal candidate brings strong employee relations experience, confidence with HRIS/timekeeping/payroll systems, and the leadership potential to grow within the organization.

Key Responsibilities


  • Serve as a trusted, confidential resource for employees, providing coaching, guidance, and support.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers on employee relations, performance concerns, attendance issues, and corrective action.
  • Support consistent, fair, and legally compliant administration of discipline.
  • Manage timekeeping, payroll-related processes, attendance programs, employee data, and HRIS administration.
  • Coordinate recruiting and pre-employment activities including background checks, drug screens, physicals, and hourly job bidding.
  • Assist with new hire orientation, employee training, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Support benefits administration, leaves of absence, personal leaves, light-duty programs, unemployment claims, and employment verifications.
  • Conduct exit interviews and identify themes to improve retention and employee experience.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with DOL, EEOC, OFCCP, wage and hour, and other employment regulations.
  • Manage reasonable-suspicion and for-cause drug testing processes.
  • Maintain a regular presence on the production floor to stay connected to employee concerns and ensure HR visibility.
  • Provide leadership with meaningful updates on morale, workforce trends, and emerging issues.
  • Support employee engagement activities and programs that strengthen connection and culture.
  • Review HR processes, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure HR priorities align with operational goals.
  • Lead or support special projects that enhance the Bethlehem team and broader organization.

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong background in employee relations with sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or other fast-paced operational environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS, timekeeping, and payroll systems; ADP experience preferred.
  • Understanding of employment practices, wage and hour requirements, recordkeeping, and HR compliance.
  • Strong organization, communication, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with HR and operational leadership.
  • Approachable, visible leadership style with willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • PHR or other HR certification preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a PLUS!
