The Division of Roadway Repair and Maintenance is recruiting a Community Coordinator to work in the Arterial Maintenance Unit, whose primary responsibility will be to manage and execute a contract to maintain landscaped roadway medians throughout the City. Tasks to be performed include, but are not limited to, the following: Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or Preferred Skills Preference will be given to candidate who possess knowledge of: Horticultural knowledge of ornamental plantings, including perennials, shrubs, grasses and trees, with an emphasis on species identification and the evaluation of plant health conditions. Experience in landscape management. Exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with users, stakeholders, and management. Ability to meet strict deadlines and handle multiple tasks concurrently. Excellent analytical, organizational, data presentation and interpersonal skills. Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
