Looking for Shipping Specialist jobs in Abilene where accuracy and teamwork keep products moving? This opportunity lets you play a key role in receiving incoming shipments, preparing outbound orders, and helping maintain an organized, efficient warehouse operation.

The Shipping Specialist is responsible for coordinating the logistics and transportation of boilers, boiler components, and auxiliary equipment moving between Rentech, material suppliers, fabrication shops, and customer job sites.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Previous logistics, shipping, transportation, or freight coordination experience preferred
• Experience with trucking companies, freight forwarders, or shipping documentation is a plus
• Manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment experience preferred

• Schedule and coordinate daily shipments and transportation activities
• Verify shipping weights and dimensions using technical drawings
• Obtain and compare freight quotes from carriers
• Select trucking providers and issue transportation orders
• Track shipments and communicate status updates to customers and internal teams
• Maintain shipping records, load information, and transportation documentation
• Coordinate international inbound and outbound shipments
• Prepare shipping paperwork and compliance documentation
• Photograph and document shipments for tracking purposes
• Process and follow up on freight damage claims
• Visit fabrication shops and loading yards to verify safe loading and transportation practices

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and organize products in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and production conditions as required.
