Shift: 6 PM - 6 AM | Monday - Friday

They are responsible for loading scrap into processing equipment, unloading incoming materials, and loading processed scrap for shipment. The role also involves sorting, processing, and stockpiling different types of metals, performing daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance, and adhering to all safety protocols and site procedures. Maintaining a clean work area and coordinating with colleagues are also part of the job

Education Requirements



  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow safety procedures, equipment operating instructions, and worksite policies.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, reliability, and attendance.
  • Valid driver's license preferred with dependable transportation to work.


Experience Requirements



  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a scrap yard, recycling facility, construction site, quarry, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience operating front-end loaders, excavators, grapples, magnets, or other material handling equipment is highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of equipment safety, hazard awareness, and safe material handling practices.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment inspections and minor troubleshooting.
  • Dependable work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to consistent attendance. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential based on performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
  • Ability to sit, climb, bend, kneel, and enter/exit heavy equipment throughout the workday.
  • Capable of lifting and moving materials, tools, or equipment as needed.
  • Ability to maintain focus and operate heavy machinery safely for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working around moving equipment, scrap metal, and industrial processing machinery.


Job Duties



  • Safely operate front-end loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment to move, sort, load, and process scrap metal materials.
  • Load scrap metal into processing equipment and prepare finished materials for shipment to customers.
  • Unload inbound loads, organize inventory, and maintain proper stockpiles of various metal grades.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized scrap yard and work area.
  • Coordinate with team members to maximize productivity, efficiency, and quality standards.
