General Job Description Position Overview The Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role supports month-end closings, financial reporting, audit preparation, monitoring and execution of internal controls, and the implementation of accounting best practices. Accounting manager will supervise the General Ledger team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively within the accounting and finance team. Primary Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Experience in construction industry along with inventory management is highly desirable. Month-End Close: Lead and manage general ledger closing activities, including reconciliations, accruals, inventory management and journal entries. Internal Controls: Support the development and maintenance of effective internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulatory standards. Audit Support: Coordinate with external and internal auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews, providing required documentation and explanations. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance accuracy, and improve reporting timeliness. Team Supervision: Oversee daily accounting operations and mentor accounting staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all tax filings, financial reports, and compliance obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner. ERP/Systems Management: Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of accounting software and related systems. Perform additional duties as assigned. #LI-DNI Minimum Education College Minimum Years of Experience 6+ Specific Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of GAAP, including percentage of completion revenue recognition, and financial reporting standards and internal controls. Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics is a plus. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial analysis tools. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Strong leadership along with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks. English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Maintain professionalism and a positive, respectful demeanor with customers, coworkers, and business partners. Education/Experience 6+ Years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in managerial or supervisory capacity. Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Physical Requirements Ability to perform motions including typing. Work in a typical office environment, sitting at a desk and performing prolonged computer work, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures. Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require. Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology. Travel as required to support project and operational needs. Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position. Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 25 pounds.
