Location: Open to remote work in the US. Chicago, IL is the preferred location.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Feature Architecture: Drive the technical vision, design, and implementation of high-impact AI features that seamlessly bridge Windows and Android applications.
  • Deliver High-Quality Product: Architect and ship robust, scalable capabilities by leveraging our core UI framework, allowing your team to accelerate the rollout of cutting-edge features.
  • Ensure Technical Excellence: Uphold engineering standards, best practices, and code quality metrics within your feature domain to ensure the UI feels highly responsive and native across a variety of device specifications.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with product managers, designers, and foundational platform engineers to translate complex user interactions into polished, production-ready features.
  • Navigate Complexity: Balance the need for cross-platform code maintainability with the need for native-level performance and hardware optimization for the capabilities you own.
  • Mentor and Elevate: Act as a force multiplier within your team, mentoring mid-level and senior engineers and guiding feature work to foster a culture of innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Anticipate Challenges: Proactively identify technical bottlenecks and system constraints within your product area and head them off before they impact delivery.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience:5+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of operating at a Senior level or above, leading technical design for complex application features.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Cross-Platform Expertise: Strong hands-on experience building multi-platform features using shared UI/UX codebases and frameworks like React Native, Flutter, or Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Native Platform Depth: Experience in either Android (Kotlin) or Windows (C#, WinUI, or WPF) application lifecycles, UI rendering pipelines, and memory management.
  • Feature Architecture: Experience architecting complex features or sub-systems that successfully balance code reuse with native-level performance and responsiveness.
  • Delivery Track Record: Experience taking major product capabilities from initial concept through to deployment in either consumer or enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AI Integration: Experience designing and building user interfaces that handle generative and agentic AI interactions, including mitigating time-to-first-token latency and integrating with local and/or cloud-based LLMs.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to drive technical alignment within a feature squad and collaborate effectively across distributed, time-zone separated engineering teams.
  • Product Focus: Passion for product engineering, delivering exceptional user experiences, and staying current with emerging technologies.
