Job Description

This role is all about opening new doors and driving growth in Amcor's healthcare packaging business. As our Business Development Manager III (BDM), you'll focus on winning new thermoformed tray business by identifying prospects, building relationships with key decision-makers, and turning opportunities into long-term partnerships.

You'll work closely with marketing-generated leads while also proactively developing your own pipeline. By understanding customer needs, industry trends, and the packaging landscape, you'll position Amcor's products and services as solutions that help customers succeed. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role where you'll lead business development efforts, influence buying decisions, negotiate opportunities, and ultimately close new business that drives revenue and profitability.

Beyond securing new customers, you'll play a key role in bringing opportunities to life. From onboarding and commercialization to contract discussions and account transitions, you'll help ensure a seamless experience for customers as they become part of the Amcor portfolio.

What You'll Do

Drive New Business Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies to win new healthcare thermoformed tray business across your assigned North American territory.

  • Build and manage a pipeline of 10-15 active opportunities while consistently generating new leads.

  • Research prospects, identify decision-makers, and proactively engage potential customers through outreach, networking, and industry connections.

  • Understand market trends, customer challenges, and emerging opportunities to position Amcor's solutions effectively.

  • Deliver revenue growth, improve profitability, and create meaningful customer engagement through new account acquisition.

Build Strong Customer Relationships

  • Establish trusted relationships with key stakeholders at prospective customer organizations.

  • Lead business discussions and negotiations with support from internal partners, balancing customer needs with Amcor's business objectives.

  • Expand relationships within customer organizations by connecting them with the right resources across Amcor.

  • Develop and maintain a strong external network that includes co-packers, OEMs, machine suppliers, industry associations, and other key influencers.

Partner Across the Business

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Product Management, Field Service, and Operations teams to support customer trials, validations, and commercialization efforts.

  • Work closely with Strategic Marketing to identify unmet customer needs and develop solutions that address market opportunities.

  • Lead the onboarding and implementation process for new business opportunities, ensuring a smooth transition from opportunity to active customer.

  • Partner with Account Managers to successfully transition new accounts once they are established and operating smoothly.

Analyze, Report, and Optimize

  • Maintain accurate account plans, sales pipelines, and opportunity tracking within CRM systems.

  • Share competitive intelligence, market insights, pricing trends, and customer feedback with internal stakeholders.

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline health, business wins, challenges, and market developments.

  • Monitor profitability and customer retention metrics while identifying opportunities for growth.

What Success Looks Like
  • Consistently delivering revenue growth and profitability through new customer acquisition.

  • Generating approximately $1.5M in annual sales growth.

  • Building a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and successfully converting prospects into long-term customers.

  • Creating lasting customer relationships that position Amcor as a trusted partner in healthcare packaging.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a large-scale B2B environment.

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in technical sales, business development, or general management within the packaging industry.

  • Direct experience selling thermoformed trays within the healthcare market.

  • Proven success driving sales growth, profitability, and new business acquisition.

  • Experience negotiating contracts and closing complex business agreements.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including domestic and occasional international travel to Mexico.

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $112,800 to $141,000; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $112,800 to $169,200 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits. The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is applicable to positions performed in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements, including CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA, Washington DC, as well as remote roles that may be performed in these locations. Compensation for roles performed outside of these jurisdictions may vary. The Company reserves the right to modify this range at any time. Benefits
