What to Expect

Tesla's Cell Manufacturing Engineering team is seeking highly motivated Manufacturing Engineering Technicians for an exciting new project. This role will focus on executing production-line trials, performing data collection and analysis, and providing hands-on support to the engineering team during process development, validation, and ramp-up of high-speed automated equipment.

The battery cell is a critical component in Tesla vehicles and storage systems. This position offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our products through structured trials and data-driven insights. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits while joining a highly motivated and capable team.


What You'll Do
  • Plan, execute, and document production line trials to validate new processes, equipment configurations, and product design changes
  • Collect, organize, and analyze trial and production data to identify trends, measure performance, and support root-cause investigations
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineers to interpret results, recommend improvements, and implement process optimizations
  • Support engineering teams during equipment commissioning, process validation, ramp activities, and FAT/SAT
  • Develop and maintain trial protocols, standard operating procedures, training materials, and technical documentation
  • Perform statistical analysis and create clear reports and visualizations to communicate findings to cross-functional teams
  • Troubleshoot issues during trials, provide data-backed feedback to engineers and suppliers, and travel domestically or internationally as needed

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience conducting trials, process validation, or data-driven process improvement in a highly automated manufacturing environment
  • Strong proficiency in data collection, analysis, and visualization using MS Excel and other business systems; familiarity withJMPis a plus
  • Solid understanding of root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies with a data-driven approach
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently while supporting a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering team
  • Experience performing hands-on tasks on production equipment, including setup for trials, basic inspections, and safe operationwithability toliftupto 20 pounds
  • Ability to develop clear technical documentation and communicate findings effectively to engineers and stakeholders

    Expected Compensation
    $28.80 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
