A Trauma Registrar Senior is responsible for the collection, entry, and maintenance of data for the Trauma Center as required by the American College of Surgeons, and the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services. The registrar will code each injury related admission utilizing the ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and the Abbreviated Injury Scaling systems. This data, along with other state and nationally required data elements will be entered into the computerized trauma registry, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times. The Trauma Registrar II position serves as a resource for the Trauma Registrar I, and for the entire trauma program, understanding the trauma registrar data, and producing and analyzing reports to support internal performance improvement and research. The Trauma Registrar Senior will verify data and submit to state and national benchmarking programs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
