Itron is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for our West Union, SC facility. This position will report to the Principal Quality Engineer with a focus of work on quality system and process improvements. This position will work with and lead cross functional teams to drive systems projects and continuous improvement. This role will also have a primary responsibility for UL audits and assist with internal as well as external audits for the site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within the QMS, proposing and implementing enhancements to processes, tools, and systems to drive overall quality performance and operational excellence.
  • Manage site level UL audits and required responses
  • Assist with internal and external audits and support required responses or corrective actions
  • Create or update documents governing quality systems processes (SOPs, WIs)
  • Provide training on quality topics or process updates
  • Analyze and trend data for quality performance processes or metrics
  • Report on improvement projects or 8-D status and/or results to leadership or cross functional teams

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 or other similar quality standards
  • ISO lead auditor or internal auditor experience
  • Cross functional team leadership
  • Experience working with UL regulated products and facilitating UL audits
  • Familiarity with revising and managing quality risk documents (FMEA, DFMEA, Risk Assessments)
  • Experience with 8-D and Root Cause Analysis Tools

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Certified Lead Auditor
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Lean Six Sigma Trained or Certified
  • Experienced or Certified Trainer
