Pay Range: $72,500-$90,625 per year

Position Summary

The Process Improvement Coordinator is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing process optimization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and overall performance. This role collaborates cross-functionally with departments to evaluate current workflows, eliminate waste, and standardize best practices using continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks. This role works closely with the department supervisors, other department leads, and processing team members, in order to accomplish accuracy within the processing department and to ensure that our customers receive quality products. This position executes processes that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, supporting Foster Poultry Farms' mission, vision, and ACTION guiding principles: Accountability, Collaboration, Truth-Seeking, Initiative, Ownership, and Nimbleness.

Essential Functions



  • Provides overall direction and supervision of the department supervisors.
  • Responsible for the development of all supervisors through training programs and to ensure that the plant has a trained and proficient work force that accomplishes meeting department goals on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
  • Responsible for processing/production department(s) and for meeting department and company goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.

  • Responsible to superintendent on all exceptions in regard to productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost, and safety.
  • Responsible for monitoring standards and indexes needed to control area of responsibility.
  • Administer to ensure that safety orientations and safety meeting are held as required to keep frequency and severity to a minimum.
  • Participates at department meeting in the planning processes and to the testing and development of techniques/processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.



All personnel employed or associated with Foster Poultry Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products. The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated in a company handbook and at training sessions. Each new hire is provided a handbook and attends a food safety training session before beginning work. All employees attend a refresher training session at least once per year. Records are maintained reflecting the distribution of employee handbooks and attendance at the training sessions.

Physical Requirements

Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:



  • Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours on a wet concrete floor
  • Must be able to withstand a cold (40-48 degree) environment.
  • Must be able to withstand a hot (80+ degree) environment.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace work environment.



Qualifications



  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • A. /B.S. degree or AA/B.S. degree or technical school graduate or a minimum of 3 years experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of production equipment fundamentals.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels including management.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Decision making ability for the flagging of deviation from procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of sanitation and clean up preferred.
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work safely and set an example of safe working habits for their coworkers.
  • Must be able to safely operate forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Must wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
