Responsibilities & Expectations:

As a Senior Accounting Manager - Inventory, you will oversee inventory accounting operations and team performance, reporting directly to the Senior Operational Accounting Manager. This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory records, analyzing variances, and providing related financial insights to management. You will mentor and guide team members, review key financial entries, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to maintain robust inventory processes. Additionally, this role requires a proactive approach to compliance with GAAP and company policies while driving process improvements and operational efficiency, including modernizing accounting practices through AI-enabled tools and automations.

* Lead and support the accounting team, providing training, mentorship, and guidance to foster skill development and enhance performance

* Perform and review account reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance of inventory records, including finished goods, WIP, inventory reserves, and intercompany inventory transactions

* Prepare, review, and/or approve cost related journal entries and provide insights into deviations and variance analysis

* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory reporting

* Collaborate with the Operational Controller to prepare and present inventory-related analyses to support strategic decision-making

Qualifications and Competencies:

* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

* 5+ years of operational, cost, or inventory accounting experience, and 2+ years in management roles

* Proficiency in financial software (i.e. Planful, DOMO) and MS Excel

* Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and GAAP, with demonstrated experience managing complex inventory processes

* Exceptional analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies in inventory data

* Effective oral and written communication skills to enable seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Management

* Industry experience in electromechanical and power management solutions (preferred but not required)

* CPA or CMA certification (preferred but not required)
