SCADA Specialist I

Location: Hybrid within Ohio

Your role in our success:

The SCADA Specialist I will design, build, and maintain required specialized systems that are regulated by PHMSA to help monitor and control operations and processes of the Company pipeline system(s). This shall include all Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) assets located in the primary control room, backup control room, compressor stations, LNG plants, and throughout the pipeline and distribution system(s) at various sites. This role will focus on low-complexity SCADA projects and will contribute to the overall successful execution of SCADA services to support all Business Unit project growth.

What you'll be working on:



  • Maintains and deploys SCADA systems and develops/updates SCADA Human Machine Interface (HMI)screens in accordance with Control Room Management Plan and PHMSA/API requirements
  • Maintains and deploys computers and servers while overseeing the entire SCADA System(s) infrastructure
  • Maintains and deploys network devices; troubleshoot and update device OS and/or CISCO configurations to maintain compliance and uphold cyber security practices
  • Evaluates releases of all software utilized through the SCADA System(s), add drivers to communicate to specific Remote Terminal Unit (RTUs), manage software version and update as needed, especially to maintain or improve cyber security posture keeping Operational Technology and Information Technology separate and secure
  • Works with multiple departments across all operational Business Units as well as the Corporate BIS network, systems, and cyber teams
  • Troubleshoots Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, Modbus, Open Platform
    Communications, and network communication to ensure field data flows through communication tunnels through the SCADA network
  • Programming and scripting logic that controls and monitors industrial processes at field sites
  • Develops understanding of all Standard Operating Procedures, related to SCADA operations
  • Assists with the development of new or revised SCADA HMIs
  • Supports procedures for emergencies and troubleshoot that arise in the field
  • Occasionally performs initial program load for a new RTU or other operations support task as
    needed


Who you are:



  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
  • 1 year experience working in any of the following: Automation Engineering, Process Control Programming Languages, SCADA Systems and HMI Development, Networking and Configuration
  • Standard driver's license
  • PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA (Control Systems), Telemetry Data (Real-time and Historical), Networking, OT, ICS, SCADA Cybersecurity, Cisco configuration and commands, Active Directory and Windows OS, Programming and Scripting logic, Processes to obtain data in Real-time from remote devices in order to control equipment and condition of field assets
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, strong problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiencies and finding new solutions, highly technical role
  • Ability to work with diverse teams including operations and IT
