Summary:

The Associate Director, Enterprise Commercial Data Management focuses on the continued development, governance, and enhancement of Pacira's enterprise commercial data ecosystem. Key stakeholders include Insights & Analytics, Trade Operations, IT, Commercial Operations, Finance, Market Access, Marketing, Sales, and external data partners. This role reports to the Senior Director, Commercial Data & Advanced Analytics. The responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and executing a comprehensive commercial data roadmap, strengthening master data management and data governance, enabling enterprise reporting and advanced analytics, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure Pacira's commercial data is accurate, accessible, well-documented, and fit for business use. The scope may cover Pacira's in-line products including EXPAREL, ZILRETTA, and iovera, pipeline projects including PCRX-201, and broader enterprise commercial data needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background across commercial data management and analytics and will work closely across the Insights & Analytics team to scale trusted data capabilities, improve decision-making, and help address unmet needs in the pain and regenerative health space.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead the continued development and enhancement of Pacira's enterprise commercial data warehouse to support reporting, analytics, forecasting, financial processes, and commercial decision-making.
  • Design and support enterprise commercial data platforms, including data lakes and data warehouses aligned to Pacira's in-line products, pipeline opportunities, and broader enterprise commercial needs.
  • Own and improve commercial master data management processes, including customer, account, affiliation, hierarchy, GPO roster, contract roster, and related reference data management.
  • Partner closely with IT to support data integration, data quality, ETL review, testing, release management, warehouse enhancements, and downstream reporting and analytics needs.
  • Partner closely with Trade Operations and Finance to support GPO and contract roster management, chargeback reconciliation, monthly GPO administrative fee calculations, quarterly customer tiering, rebate calculations, and related close processes.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with commercial data providers and offshore support partners, including data delivery, issue resolution, quality monitoring, documentation, prioritization, and ongoing enhancement of data processes.
  • Establish data standards, business rules, governance processes, documentation, and quality controls across key commercial data assets.
  • Develop trusted single-source-of-truth tables, analytics-ready data layers, reusable data models, and supporting documentation to enable dashboards, recurring business reviews, ad hoc analytics, advanced analytics, and self-service reporting.
  • Manage and improve data processes across key commercial data domains, including customer, sales, shipment, trade, distribution, contracting, pricing, payer, claims, CRM, field activity, and digital marketing data.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and scale recurring data processes, including potential AI-enabled improvements to data quality, documentation, reconciliation, reporting, and operational workflows.

Works collaboratively with all levels of the organization, with especially close partnership across Insights & Analytics, IT, Trade Operations, Finance, Market Access & Operations, Commercial Operations, Sales, Marketing, and external data partners.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Economics, Healthcare, Healthcare Informatics, Information Systems, or related concentration preferred; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, commercial data management, commercial analytics, data strategy, data warehousing, master data management, or pharma / healthcare consulting.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing, enhancing, or supporting commercial data warehouses, data marts, analytics-ready data tables, reporting layers, or enterprise commercial data capabilities.
  • Experience with commercial master data management processes required, including customer/account data, affiliations, hierarchies, GPO and contract rosters, data stewardship, data quality rules, and downstream integration into reporting and analytics environments.
  • Prior experience supporting commercial operations, trade operations, market access, finance, or commercial analytics processes preferred.
  • Prior experience working in management consulting is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven track record of developing, governing, and enhancing commercial data capabilities across a diverse product portfolio and wide range of internal stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial data sources, including customer master data, sales and shipment data, 852/867 data, GPO and contract rosters, chargebacks, payer data, claims data, CRM data, field activity data, and digital marketing data.
  • Strong understanding of commercial master data management concepts, including customer/account data, affiliations, hierarchies, reference data, stewardship workflows, data quality rules, and downstream integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into scalable data requirements, business rules, documentation, analytics-ready data assets, and practical process improvements.
  • Strong SQL proficiency, including the ability to review ETL logic, validate data outputs, investigate data issues, and write queries as needed.
  • Experience working with commercial data warehouses, business intelligence platforms, cloud data infrastructure, and analytics tools such as Dataiku, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Strong project and process management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional workstreams, identify risks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex data issues, identify root causes, and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, rapidly changing environment and build strong partnerships with Trade Operations, IT, Finance, Commercial Operations, Market Access, Marketing, Sales, external data providers, and offshore support partners.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data concepts, quality considerations, and business implications to non-technical stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this role is $141,000 annually to $194,000 annually. The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications. Depending on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered.
