Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to be a subject matter expert on SRNL cybersecurity operations processes. As a Project Manager, you will focus on cybersecurity-related projects and requires close coordination with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Cyber Manager to ensure all project activities align with SRNL cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and accreditation requirements. You will coordinate between internal teams, clients, and various stakeholders to maintain project timelines, scope, and budget. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client satisfaction.

  • Collaborate closely with the ISSO and Cyber Manager to ensure all cybersecurity requirements are identified, tracked, and incorporated into project planning and execution.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet cybersecurity accreditation requirements and align with SRNL cybersecurity standards.

  • Project Planning & Initiation: Initiate and plan projects, review scope, create project schedules, and coordinate resources to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Client Communication & Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and resources, facilitating kickoff meetings, status updates, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Execution & Monitoring: Oversee project execution by managing timelines, resources, and deliverables. Ensure accurate tracking of project progress and time management.
  • Risk & Change Management: Identify and manage risks and scope changes, ensuring appropriate documentation and communication to stakeholders.
  • Project Closeout: Ensure all deliverables are completed, conduct project closeout meetings, and provide final reports/documents to internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA + 10-12 years of Project Management, cybersecurity operations, or related technical fields including leading projects in a complex organization required.
  • For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
  • Strong leadership skills, good judgment, and ability to effectively interface with employees and leaders at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex issues to stakeholders, leaders, and partners.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively across functions and teams while building trusted relationships and positively influencing others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically, identify creative solutions, and resolve conflicts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a regulated DOE environment is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with ISSOs, cybersecurity managers, or cybersecurity compliance teams.
  • Hands-on experience conducting or supporting cybersecurity assessments for system accreditations (e.g., NIST RMF, FISMA, or other compliance frameworks).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity assessments and federal cyber policies
  • Proven track record of leading through influence, building long-term relationships, and confidence in building vision, roadmaps, budgets, priorities, and objectives.
  • PMP certification
  • ITIL certification
