Role Summary: Reporting to the Lighting Manager, the Lighting Estimator is a key member of the lighting team. This position is responsible for quoting, closing, and preparing submittals.

Exciting work you will do:

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Lighting Estimator position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop quotations for lighting equipment, products, and systems
  • Follow up on and appropriately position Kendall on all lighting bids
  • Prepare submittals for lighting projects
  • Close lighting business
  • Effectively communicate with inside/outside sales, customers, contractors, representatives, vendors, architects, and engineers
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors
  • Attend vendor lunch & learns and lighting industry functions and events
  • Provide Lighting Department support for all company departments, including potential site visits as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

What you'll need:

  • Work Experience: Experience in the lighting industry; experience preparing and distributing lighting project quotes
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organization Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment
  • Cross-functional skills: Strong customer orientation; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: Ability to sit, talk, and hear; ability to sit for up to 8 hours per day
  • Physical Environment: Normal office environment

Skills we prefer but don't require:

  • Experience: Experience with Eclipse business software
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
