Residence Hall Chaplain (Student Worker)

Lipscomb University
United States, Tennessee, Nashville
Jun 17, 2026
Description

The Residence Hall Chaplains (RHC) are full-time students working in a part-time capacity (approximately 5 hours/week) while living in their assigned residence hall. Each chaplain will directly report to the Residence Hall Director (RHD) and the Campus Minister.

This role is open to current Resident Assistants (RA) and will focus on the spiritual life of their residents. The RHC will be available for spiritual, emotional, and pastoral care to residents, acting not as the sole provider of ministry but as a dedicated connection point for spiritual health on campus. This position seeks to ensure that students feel seen, heard, and supported in their walk with Christ, bridging the gap between campus ministry and daily life in the residence halls.

The purpose of the RHC is to expand the invitation to offer accessible, inclusive, and proactive spiritual care directly into students' residential life on campus. Through a bi-weekly mentorship with the Campus Minister and a direct partnership with the RHDs, each RHC will observe and report a real-time pulse of each residence hall's spiritual health.
