Job Summary:
The Frank J. Remington Center, a University of Wisconsin Law School clinical center, has an opening for a Reentry/Outreach specialist. The reentry specialist will provide direct reentry services to Remington Center clients, and will work with other state reentry providers to identify service gaps and work to increase access to existing resources for people incarcerated in the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The specialist will also engage in efforts to improve the reentry continuum as well as to bring the voices of system-impacted people into policy efforts at the state level. The specific duties of the position are as follows: a) Process reentry referrals received from Remington Center attorneys, and provide release planning and post-release support to the reentry/outreach specialist's caseload of clients f) Engage in advocacy work to improve the criminal legal system as well as to bring the voices of system-impacted people into policy efforts g) Assist with curriculum development as appropriate
Frank J. Remington Center, University of Wisconsin Law School Compensation:Minimum salary of $50,000/year. Initial salary will be commensurate with experience and knowledge. Required Qualifications:- Professional experience working with vulnerable populations, especially those incarcerated or formerly incarcerated - Background in social work, law, sociology, criminal justice, psychology or related discipline Education:Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
